InfoSmartAT is an Edmonton, Alberta based organization dedicated to removing barriers to learning, employment and quality of life through assistive or adaptive technology.

What is AT?

Assistive or adaptive technology (AT) is an umbrella term used to refer to assistive, adaptive and rehabilitation devices used by people with disabilities.

An AT Assessment refers to the processes used to assess the best devices for use by a person,  based on their unique needs.

AT promotes greater independence by enabling people to perform tasks they were formally unable to accomplish, or had great difficulty accomplishing.

AT can be high tech or low tech. What matters most are the unique needs of each person.

We believe that an AT Assessment is an important foundation to best addressing the unique needs of people with disabilities. It is an important step for matching AT to a person, and results in the best possible outcome.
